National University of Agricultural Sciences -M.Phil /Ph.D Admissions
Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) is the premier R&D Organization in the Agriculture Sector in Pakistan. At its National Agricultural Research Centre it has one of the most advanced facilities for research in agriculture and allied sciences. Spread over an area of 1400 acres and located on the Park Road in the farm land area of Islamabad, NARC has the most modern infrastructure, highly qualified faculty and very well equipped laboratory facilities, which could be easily compared with any international research institution. Since November 2008 PARC has embarked upon an ambitious academic (teaching and research) program at the campus of NARC, in the name of National University of Agricultural Sciences (NUAS), which has been approved by the HEC as “degree granting institution”. ECNEC approves N-fuel enrichment plant in Mianwali
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Thursday approved 28 development projects, including the Nuclear Fuel Enrichment Plant (NFEP) project worth Rs 14.24 billion. The project, with a Rs 5.57 billion foreign exchange component (FEC), will be undertaken in Mianwali. In a meeting chaired by Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, ECNEC approved two other projects for the energy sector, including the extension/augmentation of existing 500KV and 220KV grid stations of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) through the installation of additional transformers worth Rs 1.93 billion with a Rs 1.37 billion FEC.(Feb,11,2010, Daily Times)

MOL sadly announces the death of Dr. Haroon Ahmed Khan Niazi son of Saeed Akhtar Khan Niazi and Grandson of Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan Niazi. Dr. Haroon passed away at a hospital in London and was buried in his ancestral graveyard (Khanki Khail).May Allah bless his soul and give his loved ones allthe strength to bear the irreparable loss, Ameen

DPO Mianwali says giving guns to locals will help build trust
District Police Officer Akbar Khan is trying to rise to the challenge by constituting a special police force, which he said would be made up of locals, but with the same powers as the police. Their main role would be to assist the police in anti-terror efforts. The recruits will be issued guns licensed by the government and will be authorised to use them while pursuing terror suspects. Imran Khan for politically active students
LONDON, Sept 28 (APP)- Pointing out the past key role played in the national politics by the students, Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan urged them to re-engage in the national affairs and help the country steer out of its present difficulties. The cricketer-turned-politician was speaking at a function organised by the King’s College Pakistani Society at its premises here on Saturday evening. Addressing an audience of some 400 at the college hall, Imran reminded them of the students role in the independence movement and said they being the educated ones have an important part in the destiny of their country.
Namal College is Born
Islamabad, Apr 28: Imran KhanPakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani last evening launched Namal College in Mianwali, a brainchild of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan. Imran said he decided to open the college to tackle the high level of unemployment among the youth of Mianwali. He said he wanted to open a college in order to provide high quality training and employable skills, so that the youth of the district could earn a decent living. A large number of people gathered on Sunday for the inauguration of the college, including government ministers, educationists, and donors alongside the people of Mianwali, who have so generously donated the land on which the college has been built, reported The News.

People resent suspension of train service
MIANWALI: The Pakistan Railway has suspended a train running from Rawalpindi to Multan via Attock and Mianwali, creating serious problems for the people living along its route. Bilal Express, which was not only running successfully but was also the only means of public transport between Mianwali and Attock and the intervening hilly areas of Injra, Massan, Sawan Bridge, Makhad Road, Khattakabad, Chhab, Jhamat, Ichri, Choora Sharif, Namal, Domail, Basal and Jand.
